About Us

Welcome!

At West Liberty United Methodist Church we are called by God to be living witnesses to the Good News of Jesus Christ by serving as stewards of God's gifts and blessings. For more than 225 years the people of West Liberty UMC have ministered through worship, learning and fellowship and mission to the community.

We seek to be a Christian community joined together to witness to the love and presence of Jesus Christ through worship, fellowship, study and service. We are a family in Christ, always excited about welcoming others. Worship is central in our life together. Our worship is warm and informal, but also grounded in the Bible and liturgical tradition. We follow the lectionary, a three year cycle of scripture readings, for rounded exposure to scriptures; we celebrate the Lord’s Supper monthly; we sing old and new tunes with vigor; and we share our joys, concerns and prayers.

Worship at West Liberty UMC

Come for worship at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning. Ours is a family worship service where we join in singing old and new songs, unite in prayer, have a special message for the children during worship after which they are invited to Sunday School. The service continues with Scripture, and a meditation on the Scripture and singing in the Methodist tradition. Fellowship time follows worship.

Come for Wednesday worship and prayer meeting at 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday in the Sanctuary. Join in prayer, Bible reading and fellowship!

Monday, 7:00 p.m. Bible Study, Invitation to the Psalms

Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. Prayer meeting.

Thursday, 7:30 p.m. Boy Scouts.

 

West Liberty Child Development Center

This ministry to the whole community is a fully staffed licensed Christian child care center for infants through school age children. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with before and after school care with bus service from 7th District Elementary School. Openings in most age groups are available.
